Oti is the creation of two junior doctors who currently work within the NHS. Between us we have several years experience working across four hospitals and in primary care in a range of specialties.
why we made oti
We are acutely aware of the difficulties of finding and accessing guidelines both at work and at home. We have experienced searches that return hundreds of results, guidelines that are buried on the intranet and even information that only exists on a pin-board. Accessing computers and hunting for guidelines takes time; we saw that we could create something to overcome these problems and benefit both users on the ground and those who want the information disseminated.
our vision
We hope that Oti will be a reliable, simple system that users can trust, using the latest technology to provide a system that is intuitive to use, and which benefits both individual users and those who are responsible for the creation, publication and distribution of guidelines. Our aim is for it to be used as widely as possible, so that when healthcare workers move for work, as they so often do, they will have something familiar wherever their job may take them.
the future
Oti was born from a feeling that we could really make a difference to healthcare using very simple systems; the more hospitals it is used in, the more we will be able to establish a continuity that benefits staff and patients. In the future we would like to offer the app to community services who work closely with hospitals and would benefit from access to shared information. We would love for Oti to become a widely-used, recognisable system that users have confidence in.
